Chef Kris Allen of Pamplona Tapas Bar & Restaurant in Lafayette was crowned the 2026 King of Louisiana Seafood after capturing the title at the 19th Annual Louisiana Seafood Cook-Off.

Allen earned top honors with his crab-stuffed flounder, a dish that showcased the quality, versatility and flavor of Louisiana seafood. Following his win, Allen credited the state's fishermen and seafood producers, saying he was proud to highlight the products and people who make Louisiana's seafood industry exceptional.

Allen bested a field of 12 chefs from across the state. Chef Chris Vazquez of Ralph's on the Park in New Orleans finished second, while Chef Jared Heider of Juniors on Harrison in New Orleans placed third.

As the 2026 King of Louisiana Seafood, Allen will represent Louisiana at the 22nd Annual Great American Seafood Cook-Off, held July 25 in New Orleans during the Louisiana Restaurant Association Showcase. He will also serve as the state's Seafood Ambassador for the coming year, promoting Louisiana seafood across the country.
