Celebrating Careers in Hospitality
The LRAEF hosted its 4th Annual ”Serving the Future – Celebrating Careers in Hospitality” event on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at Generations Halls in New Orleans. The LRAEF honored its 2022 Scholars - promising young professionals who are Louisiana's "future stars" of the culinary and hospitality industries.
"Serving the Future" is a fun, festive celebration that takes place during the Louisiana ProStart Student Invitational, the LRAEF's signature ProStart event. The competition's participants and educators, as well as our LRAEF Scholars attend. The LRAEF also recognized its Annual Partners who so generously support its goals.

Jim Funk Scholarship
The LRAEF’s highest award honoring the contributions of longtime LRA CEO Jim Funk who founded the LRAEF.
Nicholls State University, Third-Year Recipient
Louisiana Seafood Scholarship
Established through a generous gift from the Louisiana Seafood Promotion & Marketing Board, this scholarship is awarded to a qualified applicant who expresses an interest in cultivating, protecting, and promoting Louisiana seafood.
Louisiana Culinary Institute
Awarded to qualified Louisiana students who intend to pursue a career in the restaurant, foodservice, tourism, or hospitality industry.
ProStart students who completed the
Certificate of Achievement are given priority.
