Report a claim early; reduce overall claims cost
Operating from our Metairie headquarters, LRA Workers' Comp provides timely and efficient claims handling to LRA members. We do not use a third party to provide your claims management. Our claims professionals have over 200 years of combined experience and understand the unique risks in operating a restaurant, bar, caterer or other foodservice business. Providing necessary medical or other treatment to expedite the return of your employee to work is our primary focus.
Our claims team carefully monitors the recommended medical treatment, payment of indemnity (lost wage) benefits and your employees’ improvement. Our claims team is in regular contact with your injured worker and can provide updates to the employer upon request.
It is important that all workplace or work-related accidents are reported to the LRA SIF immediately to help ensure the appropriate and timely medical treatment is provided. To help us manage your expense, please report all workplace accidents or injuries, regardless of the extent of the injury, or if medical treatment is refused by the employee. Medical Bill Review and Utilization Services
Claims cost management extends beyond our team
Helping provide cost effective workers' compensation coverage is our goal. As part of our cost management efforts, we contract with medical providers, negotiate fees or payments for services, and utilize a third party provider to perform a review of charges for treatment and medical utilization. They provide compliance review to ensure invoices for medical treatments are processed in accordance with the state’s workers' comp medical fee schedule and other regulations. We contract with specialized firms to provide independent review of proposed medical treatments to ensure compliance with applicable medical treatment guidelines provided for in state law. We also contract to provide pharmacy cost management and ease of access for injured workers.
