Individuals can now obtain their Responsible Vendor Permit, or bar card, by completing the two-hour ServSafe Alcohol course online 24-7—it’s fast, convenient and state approved. Any person who sells or serves beverage alcohol or deals with customers who purchase or consume beverage alcohol must attend an approved server training class and receive a Server Permit issued by the Louisiana Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control.
Servers must obtain a permit within 45 days from date of hire.
Server Permits are valid for four years anywhere in Louisiana unless suspended or revoked. When working, servers must carry permit with one legal picture identification.
