Association Updates

December 23, 2008 The National Restaurant Association has released their 2009 Restaurant Industry Forecast. As a member of the LRA, you are also automatically a NRA member. To download your FREE copy of this report, which contains valuable restaurant trends, statistics and research, log on to the NRA website.

December 22, 2008 The LRA has provided tools for our members to combat union-organizing in their workplace. Log on to the Member's Only section and visit the Alerts page to download "Coalition for a Democratic Workplace" materials.

December 16, 2008 The LRA respectfully urges the New Orleans City Council to continue current sanitation services in the French Quarter and Central Business District. These services are scheduled to cease January 1, 2009. Read more.

December 9, 2008 Restaurant operators with tipped employees have until Monday, March 2, 2009 to file with the Internal Revenue Service Form 8027, or the Employer’s Annual Information Return of Tip Income and Allocated Tips. Form 8027 instructions are available here.

December 1 , 2008 The LRA is partnering with the University of New Orleans’ Hospitality Research Center to conduct an anonymous market analysis survey. We invite restaurateurs statewide to participate; its findings are sure to give your business the advantage of comparing business tactics with your peers, analyzing trends and gathering ideas and solutions.
