LRA NAMES NEW GENERAL COUNSEL
—Johnson, Johnson, Barrios & Yacoubian and Fisher & Phillips LLP—
The Louisiana Restaurant Association is pleased to name and endorse two prestigious law firms to represent the organization as general counsel effective January 1, 2007. Johnson, Johnson, Barrios & Yacoubian will represent and advise the LRA and its members in matters relating to corporate, small business, insurance and governmental affairs. Fisher & Phillips LLP, an industry leader in labor law, will represent the LRA and its members in matters relating to employment and labor law.
“We feel we have selected two outstanding firms in their respective areas of expertise,” said Jim Funk, CEO of the LRA. “I’m very confident that these two groups will represent the best interest of the LRA, our members and our industry.”
The search resulted from the 2006 Presidential appointment of former LRA Counsel Horace “Topper” Thompson III, as a Commissioner of the Occupational Safety & Health Review Commission. Thompson represented the LRA for 25 years as LRA General Counsel from 1981 to 2006.
